Tokyo Tokyo is one of the world's largest cities (if not the largest) with 38 million people. It is a cultural and financial center. It is one of the most influential cities in Japan, Asia and the world.
Japan Japan is home to 127 million people. Japan is roughly the size of California and yet 70% is uninhabited. Which means 127 million people live in an area of 30% of California.
Despite a history of Christian missions, only 0.2 % of Japanese are Christians. 95% of Japanese have never met a Christian or ever heard the hope of the gospel. We are passionate about joining the LORD in the work he is doing, establishing communities of faith in Tokyo, bringing Gospel hope to where there is none.
YWAM Tokyo shares both the beauty and the brokenness of Japan as compelling reasons we should be asking not Why Japan? but Why Not Japan?

To be in ministry for the long-haul in Japan requires significant preparation.
Our first 3-4 years 2 years - Full-time language study for both Jason & Mandy. Fluency is crucial for flourishing in life and ministry. 1-2 year - church-planting internship under a Japanese pastor at a Japanese church. Our goal is to assist in raising up men and women into maturity in Christ to lead the church. Who better to learn from than Japanese men and women leading the church.
Grace Church Planting Network is one of several church-planting initiatives in Tokyo and through out Japan. We're excited for what the Lord is doing here!
MTW's Vision The Gospel of the Kingdom advancing throughout the world.
MTW Mission To make disciples among all nations.
Pretty straight forward... So what makes MTW unique?
In the video below, Dr. Lloyd Kim - Coordinator for MTW states four values that set MTW apart and oddly enough summarize well why we are so excited to be missionaries with them.
Four Values -
1) The Church - the establishment, growth and maturity of the Church in all our ministry efforts
2) Grace - community life and ministry shaped by God's grace for us in His Son, Jesus Christ
3) Reformed and Covenantal - a ministry that is guided, inspired and shaped by our theology
4) Mercy, Justice & Love of God - a love for God that is demonstrated through acts of mercy and justice.
Dr. Lloyd Kim - MTW Coordinator shares the four cores values that set MTW apart and excite us about working with them.
